Free ADHD Focus Re-entry Timer

Keep your place. Make the return smaller.

This is the interruption-recovery workflow from the Reset Desk, with a focused entry page. Capture what you were doing, name one action you can return to, and choose a short timebox. You write the plan; the tool does not generate or judge it.

Future you should not have to reconstruct this.

Capture the thread in under two minutes. Keep sensitive details out of links and analytics.

Saved results stay in this browser: only the latest result for each reset workflow, up to five separate results total. No account or task text is sent to analytics.

How to use this planner

  1. Bookmark the interrupted work

Name the objective and one visible next action. Use the optional context and obstacle fields to record where you stopped and what is in the way, without rebuilding the whole project plan.

  2. Write the return cue

Choose something concrete to open, find or do when you return. “Reopen the draft at the marked sentence” gives you a point of contact. The cue and the action are yours to edit.

  3. Try a short timebox

Choose 5, 10, 15, 25 or 45 minutes and start the on-page timer when useful. Saving the bookmark is a separate choice. The timebox is a boundary for trying, not a promise to finish the task.

A smaller plan, in practice

BeforeA message pulled me away from a report and I have lost my place.
A workable versionContext: the first section is drafted. Next action: add one example under the second heading. Return cue: reopen the draft at that heading. Try a 5-minute timebox.
BeforeI stopped halfway through an administrative form.
A workable versionObjective: finish the application. Obstacle: one detail is missing. Next action: find that detail. Return cue: open the saved form and the relevant document.
BeforeAn interruption makes me feel as though the whole session is wasted.
A workable versionWrite the last completed step and one possible next action. Choose a shorter return attempt, or stop deliberately and keep the bookmark for later.

Preserve context before asking for more focus.

The bookmark separates the objective, next action, context, obstacle and return cue. These fields already exist in the Reset Desk; this page gives the same workflow a direct route. You can leave the optional context or obstacle fields empty.

Save keeps the latest interruption bookmark in this browser, separately from your First-Step and Brain-Dump results. Resume restores its fields and selected timebox, but does not restart a running timer. Unsaved changes are lost when you leave or reload.

The timer uses a deadline while this page is open and updates when you return to the tab. It does not provide a background alarm, sound guarantee, recurring break cycle or cross-device timer. Use your own device's reminders for commitments that need dependable alerts.

Your plans, your choice

Unsaved edits stay in the current page. Choose Save to keep one result per workflow in this browser; saving again replaces that workflow’s previous result, not your other plans. There is no account or automatic cloud sync. Browser storage is not a secure vault: avoid sensitive information on shared devices.

Copy and Print use the result you choose. Only an explicit app-handoff action sends the selected plan details to Mind Vortex for app import. You can use the web planner without that step.

Practical organization tools, not ADHD tests, diagnosis, or treatment. No outcome is guaranteed.

Questions before you start

Do I have to save before starting the timer?

No. Starting a timer and saving a bookmark are separate actions. Save when you want to keep the objective, next action and return cue in this browser. Saving does not make the timer survive a reload.

Will saving overwrite my other plans?

It replaces the previous interruption bookmark, not your First-Step or Brain-Dump plan. Browser storage can still be cleared or unavailable, so do not rely on it as your only copy of important information.

Does this run a Pomodoro or break schedule?

No. It is a single on-page timebox that you start and can stop. It does not automatically start another session or a break, and it is not a background notification service.

What if returning still feels difficult?

Make the next action smaller, identify a missing piece, ask for practical help, or decide to pause. This is a planning tool, not a treatment or a test of effort. You do not have to complete a session to use the bookmark.

Read the existing focus re-entry guide for the fuller interruption-recovery method and examples. The timer and bookmark reuse the Reset Desk rather than creating another saved-plan system.
